Job Title: Agile Transformation Specialist

Location: Markham, ON (Hybrid – 3 days office)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Agile Transformation Specialist to join our team. As a Scrum Master, you will guide the team to follow the values and principles of Agile and apply the appropriate Agile framework and techniques to create an environment of self-organisation.

You will teach and coach the team and organisation in Agile theory and software engineering techniques. Additionally, you will support and educate Product Owners, especially with respect to refining and maintaining a product backlog.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Agile Implementation: Guide the team to follow Agile principles and apply appropriate Agile frameworks and techniques.
  • Team Coaching: Teach and coach the team and organisation in Agile theory and software engineering techniques.
  • Product Ownership Support: Support and educate Product Owners on refining and maintaining a product backlog.
  • Communication: Ensure both internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information on team activities.
  • Metric Collection: Collect and communicate all necessary metrics and propose new ones in the spirit of constant empiricism.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A solid understanding of Agile values and principles.
  • A good overall knowledge of a range of Agile frameworks.
  • Insurance business knowledge.
  • Good stakeholder management skills and an ability to inspire individuals and teams to change and improve.
  • Knowledge of widely successful Agile techniques and software development processes: Test Automation, Continuous Integration, Pairing, DevOps, Refactoring, ATDD/TDD/BDD, Extreme Programming (XP), Value Stream Mapping.
  • Self-motivation and willingness to learn and explore new ideas.
  • Professional Certification (minimum PSM1/CSM or equivalent).
