We are seeking a highly experienced Strategic Financial Leader to join our team at De Beers Group in Canada. This is an exciting opportunity to drive financial excellence and contribute to the success of our organization.

About the Role

The Senior Finance Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining a standardized and optimized systems approach to operational and consolidated budgets, commercial and investment decisions, financial reporting, and tax submissions. This includes providing finance leadership, producing high-quality business performance reports, performing analytics and predictive trend analysis, and optimizing business plan delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of practical experience in a similar role and context, with a strong understanding of financial management, cost control, and capital allocation. They will also possess advanced knowledge of financial reporting, consolidation, and scenario planning, as well as IFRS application and tax management.

In this role, you will lead the development of standardised and optimised financial management and reporting systems and processes, manage the relationship and SLA with Anglo GSS for shared service functions, and consolidate and present long-range investment and commercial options evaluation to the De Beers and Anglo Investment review teams.

You will work closely with the Managed Operations CFO, country president, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration across the organization. Your ability to operate in complex and non-routine contexts, deal with ambiguity, and communicate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain standardized and optimized systems approach to operational and consolidated budgets, commercial and investment decisions, financial reporting, and tax submissions.
  • Provide finance leadership, produce high-quality business performance reports, perform analytics and predictive trend analysis, and optimize business plan delivery.
  • Lead the development of standardised and optimised financial management and reporting systems and processes.

Requirements
  • Appropriate finance or commercial qualification with a professional accounting designation (CPA, CGMA).
  • Proven track record of practical experience in a similar role and context.
  • Strong understanding of financial management, cost control, and capital allocation.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial reporting, consolidation, and scenario planning.
  • IFRS application and tax management.
  • Ability to operate in complex and non-routine contexts, deal with ambiguity, and communicate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
