Job Description:Culinary Excellence

The Executive Culinary Leader/Sous Chef is responsible for delivering exceptional culinary experiences to upwards of 500 onboard guests per train. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be accountable for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop and implement culinary strategies to enhance guest experience and satisfaction.
  • Lead and motivate a team of culinary professionals to achieve exceptional results.
  • Maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment, adhering to all regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management, ordering, and receiving processes.
  • Collaborate with onboard leadership to provide seamless services and address guest issues.
Requirements:Education and Certifications:

A Post-Secondary degree or diploma is an asset. Red Seal Culinary Certification is preferred. BC Food Safe Certification is required. Serving It Right (SIR) and ProServe certifications are an asset.

Experience:

A minimum of 3 years people leadership experience and 5 years' experience with line or restaurant cooking is required. Experience in leading groups of up to 20 employees is necessary.

Skills:

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a passion for creating delicious and visually appealing food every day.

Salary:

$70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience. A short-term incentive plan and up to 5% group RRSP matching plan are also included in the compensation package.
