We seek an experienced Urban Land Development Surveyor to join our vibrant survey operation in Edmonton. This role will focus on municipal survey projects, requiring expertise in processing survey data, calculations, plan preparation, and checking, as well as working under tight deadlines to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and comprehend the scope of survey work and client requirements.
  • Liaise effectively with Project Managers, Land Surveyors, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Prepare detailed calculations from engineering and architectural drawings as needed.
  • Develop field files and perform calculations for survey layout.
  • Conduct quality control and assurance reviews of field returns.
  • Interpret field data to create accurate survey drawings, legal plans, and reports, including downloading and editing field data, interpreting field notes and sketches, and processing conventional and GNSS data.
  • Compile comprehensive reports.
  • Prepare survey plans for drafting.
  • Perform plan closures and checks.
  • Assist in process improvements related to plan production, quality assurance, and control.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary training in Surveying or Geomatics is an asset.
  • Experience working in the municipal sector.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and associated software for survey-related plan preparation.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel.
  • An understanding of basic surveying principles, governing evidence, and Land Titles plan requirements.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team or independently.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

We estimate the salary for this position to be approximately $75,000 - $95,000 per year, commensurate with experience, considering the location and industry standards.
