Herbicide Application Crew Leader

Spectrum Resource Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Herbicide Application Crew Leader to join their team.
Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for leading a crew of herbicide applicators in the application of herbicides in accordance with regulations and label directions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mixing herbicides for application in accordance with regulations and label directions
- Attending tailgate meetings and completing trainings as applicable
- Filling sprayer tanks with water and chemicals, in accordance with regulations and label directions
- Maintaining spray packs and equipment
- Monitoring and recording weather conditions
- Maintaining inventory for chemicals and other herbicide application accessories
- Oversight of the cleanliness, upkeep and servicing of machinery to ensure operating efficiency
- Starting motors and engaging machinery, such as sprayer agitators and pumps or portable spray equipment
- BUILDING AND MAINTAINING GOOD WORKING RELATIONSHIPS WITH CLIENTS
- Driving, inspecting and maintaining large/heavy trucks with trailers
- Operating, inspecting and maintaining Argos and other offroad vehicles
- Working with helicopters
- Following the direction of the Supervisor
- Ensuring that all tasks assigned are completed in a timely and professional manner
- PAYROLL AND DATA ENTRY
- Keeping records of work completed
- Waiting for ideal weather conditions
- Work areas are assigned by the client over a large geographic region. Frequent travel will be expected.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Experience working herbicide application or managing crews in forestry context
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to handle stressful situations
- Necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) knowledge
- Valid driver's license
- Experience driving and maintaining large vehicles
- Negative drug screen result(s)
- Valid first-aid (can train)
- Competency with Avenza PDF Maps, Excel, and mobile apps
- Map reading skills
- Ability to walk rapidly over debris on uneven terrain
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions
- Decision making skills
- Willingness to work, enjoy, and live in a remote setting
- Preparation for work in all weather conditions
- Commitment till the end of August at a minimum
- Good work ethic, positive attitude & willingness to contribute
