About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician to join our team at Fast Track Appliances Ltd. As an HVAC Mechanic, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Maintenance: Install and overhaul heating systems, including refrigeration systems, and ensure they are functioning efficiently and safely.
  • Equipment Installation: Install equipment in refrigerated trucks used to transport food or medical supplies, and ensure they meet industry standards.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot heating systems and identify and repair faults to minimize downtime.
  • Component Assembly and Installation: Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components, including measuring, cutting, and connecting piping using welding and brazing equipment.
  • Refrigerant Handling: Handle, recover, and store refrigerants safely and in accordance with industry regulations.
  • Repair and Replacement: Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, or heat pump systems.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Conditions: This role requires working in a physically demanding environment, handling heavy loads, and performing tasks that involve bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Attention to Detail: You must have excellent attention to detail to ensure that all work is completed to a high standard.
Personal Qualities and Experience
  • Experience: You should have at least 7 months of experience in a related field, with a strong understanding of air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
  • Personal Qualities: You must be punctual, have good judgement, and be a reliable team player.
