Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker - Building and Grounds to join our team at Hampton Inn & Homewood Suites Halifax. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our hotel and grounds.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and waxing floors, as well as emptying trash and recycling bins.
  • Make minor repairs to heating, cooling, and electrical systems, and contact tradespeople for major repairs.
  • Perform safety and security checks, and respond to any issues that may arise.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Perform other routine maintenance tasks such as painting and drywall repair.
  • Work with minimal supervision to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a maintenance or facilities role.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in a fast-paced environment.
