Green Bay, Canada IWK Health Centre Full time

Academic Opportunity at the IWK Health Centre

The Division of Neurology, Department of Pediatrics at Dalhousie University and the IWK Health Centre invite applications for a full-time Pediatric Neurologist position at the assistant, associate or full professor level. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of experienced neurologists and contribute to the provision of high-quality neurological care for children and youth in Nova Scotia.

The successful candidate will be expected to participate in clinical service across the full spectrum of pediatric neurology, including subspecialties where possible. Participation in research and/or teaching activities in an academic environment is also anticipated. A developed interest in these areas would be considered an asset, but previous academic experience is not required.

Divisional members provide neurological care for approximately 1.9 million children/youth in the Maritime provinces. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in on-call coverage for general pediatric neurology. Academic qualifications include an MD (or equivalent) and board certification in Pediatric Neurology (Canadian FRCPC or eligibility). Eligibility for medical licensure in the province of Nova Scotia is essential.

Dalhousie University and the IWK Health Centre are located in the heart of Halifax, a vibrant and cosmopolitan port city. The surrounding area offers a unique blend of natural beauty, cultural attractions, and economic opportunities. With a low cost of living and a strong sense of community, Halifax is an attractive location for professionals seeking a great work-life balance.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $250,000-$400,000 CAD, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a pension plan and paid time off.

We are committed to achieving inclusive excellence through equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility. We welcome applications from candidates who would contribute to the diversity of our community, including Indigenous persons, persons of Black/African descent, members of racialized groups, persons with disabilities, women, and persons identifying as members of 2SLGBTQ+ communities.
