Job Title: Direct Service Worker

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Direct Service Worker to join our team at Southeast Child Family Services. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing protection and prevention services to children and families in our designated Southeast First Nation community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage caseloads specific to Family Protection and Children-In-Care with prescribed timelines.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with community resources for clients and team members.
  • Facilitate group meetings, build team cohesion, and make informed decisions.
  • Manage case files, maintain accurate documentation, and adhere to agency policies.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and independently as required.
  • Participate in agency events, training, and flexible work arrangements as needed.
  • Travel to designated First Nations communities and rural areas as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum one year of experience in front-line case management with Children-in-Care and families.
  • Investigation experience, including gathering and analyzing information to implement appropriate actions.
  • Working knowledge of Indigenous culture, the Child and Family Services Act, and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and valid driver's license.
  • Satisfactory background checks, including Criminal Record, Child Abuse Registry, and Prior Contact Check.
