Key Responsibilities and Accountability
This leadership role provides strategic direction by directing all business and program-related matters for large ministry units, including finance, property, legal, government funding, information technology, and employee relations.
- Develops and implements strategic plans for the ministry unit, ensuring alignment with Territorial standards and best practices.
- Directs and oversees the annual budgeting process for the ministry unit, analyzing financial reports to inform strategic decisions.
- Fosters effective partnerships with funders and community stakeholders, re-negotiating contracts and identifying opportunities to enhance program delivery.
- Oversees or directly manages employee/labour relations practices, promoting a positive work environment and continuous improvement in programs and client relationships.
- Ensures compliance with applicable legislation, inspecting and maintaining property, and collaborating with the Divisional Secretary to prepare property proposals for presentation to boards.
- Analyzes statistical and financial reports to inform strategic planning and reporting to the DMMC.
- Serves as the lead member of the management team for the Gateway of Hope, overseeing the management team function and meeting schedules.
Human Resources Responsibilities
- Hires, trains, evaluates, recognizes, disciplines, and terminates staff members, ensuring compliance with Territorial standards.
- Directly supervises 7-8 full-time employees, part-time employees, and/or volunteers, processing timesheets for direct reports.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Completed an Undergraduate University degree, preferably B.A., B.Sc., or B.Sc.N.
- A diploma/certificate in Human Relations or Human Sciences in addition to a bachelor's degree will be considered a strong asset.
- A minimum of five years of prior related experience, including supervisory and budget management experience in a not-for-profit social services environment.

Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this position is $105,056. This compensation package includes a competitive salary range from $78,446 to $117,667, based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
