Company Overview

Wesco International, Inc., a leading provider of electrical and industrial products, is seeking an experienced Strategic Account Manager to join our team. Located in the Greater Vancouver area, this role will focus on maintaining client relationships with key target accounts that have a significant strategic impact on our organization's long-term success.

About the Job

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience. As a Senior Strategic Account Manager, you will be responsible for identifying cross/up and repeat sales opportunities and working to resolve any issues or concerns to ensure customer satisfaction. You will also develop and execute strategic account plans at key, named accounts and drive new business development by researching, qualifying, contacting, presenting, and closing new clients based on an assigned territory or market segment.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise between field and global accounts teams to pursue new agreements, value-add/total cost of ownership (TCO) commitments, and increase customer wallet-share.
  • Maintain and manage a pipeline of opportunities at named accounts, including renewals, projects, and share improvement opportunities.
  • Communicate customer activity, opportunity status, renewal status, and strategic plan progress to management.
  • Lead solution development efforts that best address customer needs and engage supplier sales resources to enlist their support and create solutions.
  • Provide pre and post-call coaching to branch sales team and take the lead in high-level sales engagements.

Qualifications:

  • High School Degree or Equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Must be located in the Greater Vancouver area.
  • Physical Security experience is a must.
  • 5+ years proven sales experience as a strategic account manager of large account portfolios.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders and projects.
  • History of success maintaining and developing key relationships.
  • Success in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Ability to understand where potential exists in assigned accounts and can recognize and create opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building strong client relationships.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office.
  • Self-starter and able to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
