We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Director to lead our operations across Canada.

Job Description

The HSE Director will play a critical role in enhancing our safety culture, reducing incident rates, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. This role demands a strategic leader capable of driving continuous improvement in HSE practices and integrating HSE objectives into all aspects of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead, maintain, and continuously improve ENERCON's HSE program, with a focus on risk assessment and mitigation for national wind power projects.
  2. Collaborate with senior management to establish regional HSE objectives, align with Global HSE goals, and manage the departmental budget.
  3. Define and implement the strategic HSE plan, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience, including 5 years in Health and Safety Management Systems.
  • Proven experience in the management and implementation of essential OSH programs (e.g., electrical safety, lockout-tagout, working at heights, ergonomics, confined spaces, WHMIS).
  • Experience in high-risk assessments.
  • Experience working closely with blue-collar workers on-site, with the ability to effectively communicate HSE culture to teams.
  • Solid knowledge of multiple ISO standards, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Extensive experience with Canadian Occupational Health and Safety regulations and standards, including HSO requirements.
  • Willingness to travel across ENERCON sites.
  • Proficiency in French and English (oral and written).
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • An effective leader and change agent with a strong track record of managing teams and bringing them to achieve lasting results and targets.
