About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Floor Covering Specialist to join our team at South Island Deck Solutions Ltd. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the installation of resilient floor coverings, hardwood floors, and vinyl decking materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and measure surfaces to be covered, marking them accurately for installation
  • Measure, cut, and install resilient floor coverings, including vinyl and hardwood flooring
  • Prepare and install hardwood floors, ensuring a smooth and even finish
  • Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings, restoring them to their original condition
  • Estimate costs and materials required for each project, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  • Prepare floors for installation, including cleaning and preparing the surface
  • Install vinyl decking materials, ensuring a secure and durable finish
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in the field
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials
