About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Photonics R&D Engineer to join our team at Ansys, Inc. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for developing automation workflows for photonic component design and data collection.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop innovative automation workflows for photonic component design and data collection using Python programming skills.
  • Support the development and verification of new features and performance improvements within Lumerical's simulation framework, including new physics and optimization algorithms.

What You'll Need

  • A passion for photonics and software development.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with developing automation workflows in Python.
  • A PhD or Master's degree in electrical engineering, physics, or a related field with a focus on photonics and/or electronics.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and location. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
