About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team at Realstar Management. As a key member of our property management team, you will be responsible for providing critical hands-on leadership in a residential rental building.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effective expense control and management of maintenance budgets
  • Ensuring the proper physical maintenance of the building and surrounding property
  • Supervising and training maintenance and cleaning staff
  • Managing staff, including resolving conflicts and handling disciplinary action
  • Coordinating month-end duties and responsibilities, including pre-inspections and scheduling contractors
  • Overseeing contractors for fire and life safety systems
  • Assisting with the annual capital plan and identifying current or future physical issues for repair
  • Providing excellent customer service to residents and prospects
  • Managing and maintaining cleaning schedules and staff
  • Performing minor repairs and maintaining mechanical systems

Requirements

  • Background in residential property management or related business experience
  • Strong customer service and selling skills
  • Excellent communication skills to deal with residents, prospects, colleagues, and trades
  • Management skills to coach, train, and motivate staff and develop a team environment
  • Ability to perform minor repairs and aptitude for mechanical systems
  • Demonstrated cleaning skills
  • Ability to lift and push heavy objects, including garbage bins, furniture, and appliances
