Job Title: Personal Injury Law Clerk/Assistant

We are a boutique law firm in downtown Burlington, seeking a highly skilled and motivated Law Clerk/Assistant to join our team.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position that requires a minimum of 1 year of experience in plaintiff personal injury practice in Ontario. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tort matters, including practice and procedures, and Accident Benefits (SABs, LAT forms, and procedure). The role involves working with Primafact and requires excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Scheduling and serving documents
  • Managing AB and Tort files from beginning to end, including limitations management
  • Communicating with clients, non-parties, counsel, and other stakeholders
  • Preparing AB forms, pleadings, and LAT forms
  • Reviewing files, obtaining and serving productions, and affidavit of documents
  • Preparing undertakings and corresponding with Legal Counsel
  • Ensuring mail is reviewed and all interlocutory steps are taken and filed appropriately
  • Updating calendars and taking all steps for events
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1-3+ years of experience in plaintiff personal injury practice as an assistant or clerk
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in defence personal injury practice as an assistant or clerk
  • Strong understanding of tort matters and Accident Benefits
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with Primafact
