Salary

We offer an attractive salary of $17.70 per hour, with opportunities for advancement to $19.26 per hour after probation.

Job Description

In this exciting role as a Slot Attendant, you will be at the heart of the action, providing vital front-line customer support to our guests who enjoy playing the slot machines. Your key responsibilities will include observing slot players and machines, offering instruction and answering questions on various games and machines, and ensuring our guests have a memorable experience at Gateway.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with awareness of and excitement for on-going and up-coming Casino promotions.
  • Manage slot machine reservations and promote casino initiatives.
  • Work in compliance with internal controls, company policies and procedures, and/or provincial lottery/gaming policies and procedures.
  • Manage a cash float, verify and provide jackpot payouts and monetary change to guests.
  • Report any violations and escalate to the appropriate level as necessary.
  • Replenish and maintain slot machines, monitor machine stack lights to ensure prompt service.
  • Acquire and maintain a knowledge of all slot operation policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience handling cash and working with the public.
  • Superior customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of slot machine functions is an asset.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time and pull, lift, and carry objects weighted similar to a full box of paper.
  • Serving It Right (BC) certificate.
  • The ability to obtain registration with BCLC.
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a team environment.
  • A willingness to develop new skills and stay on top of the latest industry news and insights.
