Compensation Package
We offer a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as benefits and profit sharing opportunities.
Job Summary
As a Transportation Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods to customers and vendors. You will be responsible for loading trucks, making deliveries and pickups, and working in a safe manner in accordance with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Loading Trucks: Load trucks with material to be delivered curb side to customers or vendors while ensuring the necessary equipment to safely load the truck is available.
- Making Deliveries: Unload the correct material at each location and place it where the receiving party wants it and obtain a signature from the receiving party.
- Pickup Operations: Pick customer orders at the Profit Centre and load the truck at other locations including material picked up at vendors and returns by customers.
- Safety Regulations: Understand and follow all safety regulations at all customer locations as well as at the Profit Centre.
- Documentation: Complete pre-trip inspections and inform management of any mechanical problems with the truck, as well as maintain accurate records of delivery documentation.
- Customer Service: Work with customers at the delivery site to resolve shipping discrepancies quickly and accurately.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Grade 12 Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a college or university degree is an asset.
- Valid Driver's Licence: A valid driver's licence is required, with a DZ licence considered an asset.
- Clean Driving Record: A clean driving abstract that demonstrates good driving skills in compliance with company policy.
- Experience: Previous experience driving a truck and making deliveries is preferred.
- Laws and Regulations: Knowledge of the laws and regulations governing driving motor vehicles and commercial vehicles subject to Provincial Ministry of Transportation regulations.
- TDG Act: Understanding of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act.
- Material Handling Equipment: Ability to learn and operate material handling equipment.
