We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor Lead to join our team, contributing to the development of a safety-focused culture, effective communication, and accountability.
Job Description
The ideal candidate will oversee planning, scheduling, and resource allocation within the shop and yard, ensuring timely completion of repairs and servicing in a safe and efficient manner.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a unionized team in maintenance, inspections, testing, and repairs on locomotives, mobile equipment, and vehicles used in plant, yard, and road service.
- Evaluating compliance with Association of American Railroad, Transport Canada standards, and CPKC policies.
- Collaborating with internal and external partners to improve fluidity and achieve Local Service Operating Plan and Operating Plan objectives.
- Providing leadership accountability for inputs and outputs of safety, service, productivity, and financial metrics.
- Leveraging mentorship and coaching skills through active observation and feedback.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
- A high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.
- A valid driver's license.
- 2 years' previous supervisory experience in logistics or an operational environment is preferred.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in all weather conditions.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.
