At BMO, we're seeking a skilled Corporate Banking FIG Associate to join our team. This role supports the FIG Banks Europe + Americas team in the origination and structuring of Financial Institution transactions. You'll coordinate with other products as an integral part of a larger coverage team, maintaining strong client relationships and cross-selling Capital Markets products to a portfolio of global banks.

Coverage/Relationship Management Support

  1. Provide RM support and junior coverage for North American Banks and North American operations of Foreign Banks
  2. Support bankers on client requests, briefing memos, call reports, Salesforce/Lightning activity, and pipeline updating/monitoring
  3. Generate insights from client and market data
  4. Develop knowledge around Markets and DCM product set and support key initiatives and special projects (managing DCM reciprocity databases, new Markets product roll-outs)
  5. Take an active role on prospecting and prequalifying client opportunities

Product Support and Initiatives

  1. Provide support on account/product enquiries that fall outside of client service/operational request.
  2. Play an active role in the management of FIG Banks Deposit/Liquidity Book
  3. Coordinate and distribute client-focused marketing material
  4. Support Transaction flow and inquiries from North American Trade Finance clients for bank risk transactions
  5. Work with RMs to support transaction-specific business cases for credit requests

Qualifications:

  1. Typically between 4-6 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Undergraduate degree with academic coursework in finance, economics, or accounting with outstanding academic achievement.
  3. MBA degree preferred.
  4. Knowledge of capital markets, investment banking products, and applicable regulations.
  5. Credit analysis experience/understanding.
  6. Good knowledge of organizational lending and portfolio management policies and objectives.
  7. Demonstrates solid deal/transaction execution and/or project management skills.
  8. Expertise in financial computer applications and database management tools.
  9. Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.
  10. Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth.
  11. Collaboration & team skills - In-depth.
  12. Analytical and problem-solving skills - In-depth.
  13. Influence skills - In-depth.

The above represents BMO Financial Group's pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
