Job Title: Psychologist II

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychologist II to join our multidisciplinary team at the East Calgary Family Care Clinic.

This advanced level psychology position will allow you to work with or within teams to provide and inform services for patients with complex and multi-dimensional medical, psychological, interpersonal, environmental and/or instrumental needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides clinical psychological assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and program development for complex client pathologies.
  • Provides advanced and specialized clinical/psychological services including, but not restricted to individual, and group intervention.
  • Provides psychological therapy for individuals presenting with multi-dimensional issues including comorbid disorders.
  • Provides consultations to interdisciplinary team members and community partners.
  • Designs and delivers in-service education and training for staff.
  • Develops the necessary documentation to record an adequate patient profile.
  • Adheres to all standards.
Job Summary:

As a Psychologist II, you will provide advanced clinical services (including psychological assessment, diagnosis and/or intervention), consultation and education to the interprofessional team and patients/families, and/or provides clinical leadership and coordination in an assigned program area.

Requirements:
  • Completion of doctoral degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) program.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5 years of mental health experience required
  • Minimum two years of recognized clinical experience in the area of concurrent disorders required
  • Two years of clinical consultation and supervision experience required
  • A demonstrated ability to function in a interdisciplinary environment
  • Experience and training in trauma informed care required
  • Demonstrated ability to use Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and computer literacy
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in administering and interpreting psychological testing protocols (e.g. TOMM, WAIS-IV, WMS, D-KEFS, MMPI-RF, BDI-II, BAI, BRIEF, and CAARS)

  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability within a complex and rapidly changing environment and may involve working with clients who present criminal or suicidal tendencies; potential exposure to violence and aggression.
