BIRAK BERRY FARMS LTD is seeking an experienced Accounting and Settlement Specialist to join our team. As an Accounting and Settlement Specialist, you will be responsible for calculating and preparing cheques for payroll, maintaining financial records, and establishing and balancing various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.

You will also be responsible for maintaining general ledgers and financial statements, posting journal entries, and preparing other statistical, financial, and accounting reports. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing the trial balance of books and reconciling accounts.

In this role, you will also support the settlement needs of newcomers and refugees, including housing, transportation, storage, childcare, and winter clothing. You will also support social and labour market integration, including facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training.

As an Accounting and Settlement Specialist, you will work closely with our team to provide mentorship programs that pair newcomers and refugees with experienced employees. You will also offer on-the-job training tailored to youth and provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.

We are committed to creating a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers and are seeking an individual who is passionate about cultural competency and awareness training.

This is a permanent position with 40 hours per week. The work language is English.
