About the Role

The Server at Retirement Concepts and West Coast Seniors Housing Management provides exceptional customer service to residents, guests, and the public in the dining room, resident lounges, and room service. This role reports to the Support Services Manager and/or designate.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the dining room for services, including setting tables, stocking necessary items, and assisting with food and beverage preparation and presentation.
  • Carry out general cleaning duties in the dining room, including clearing and bussing tables, scraping, and washing dishes while following infection control guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain a pleasant dining atmosphere, promoting the happiness, self-respect, and physical safety of each resident.
  • Promote positive communication and relationships among staff, residents, and the public.
  • Perform housekeeping and laundry duties as required.
  • Attend and participate in community and education programs.
  • Respond to resident and building emergencies.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Grade 10 or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a dining room environment is an asset.
  • Food Safe Level 1 Certificate.
  • Serving It Right Certificate as applicable.
  • WHMIS Certificate.
  • Demonstrates collaborative and team working skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to operate related food service equipment.
  • Must be in good health, physically able to operate food service equipment, and free from communicable diseases and allergies or conditions that may be aggravated by working with cleaners, detergents, and equipment.
