About the Role
As the Associate Vice President, Events and Celebrations at Royal Ontario Museum's partner organization ROM Governors, you will oversee the strategic development and execution of high-profile events. Your expertise in event management, marketing, and communications will drive donor engagement and fundraising goals. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Operations, you will manage a team responsible for planning, designing, and executing these events, ensuring each one significantly advances ROM's mission.

Royal Ontario Museum is a leading cultural institution with ROM Governors as its strategic partner. Our mission is to advance ROM's philanthropic and sponsorship relations through inspired partnerships. We are committed to being the country's top cultural foundation by building highly engaged and impactful donor relationships.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop strategy and maintain oversight of ROM Governors' events and celebrations across all donor programs, leveraging existing events to engage new/multiple donor groups.
- Deliver financial and fundraising results as outlined in the annual fundraising and business plan.
- Lead the planning of signature events, including the ROM Classic Golf tournament, ROM Ball, and ROM Celebration.
- Represent ROM Governors internally and externally to the highest professional standards, interacting with ROM Executive, Government officials, donors, and patrons.

Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in event management and experience in marketing and communications across several mediums.
- Ability to organize and manage a diverse range of assignments and projects with high efficiency and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated track record of securing event fundraising and sponsorship.
- Resourcefulness and independence, while remaining comfortable working within the framework of an integrated development program and team-oriented environment.
- Experience working with senior volunteers, executive leadership, and other community stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong strategic thinking capabilities and problem-solving skills.
- Superior project management and prioritizing skill.
