The Canada Life Assurance Company is seeking a highly skilled and organized Corporate Litigation Support Professional to join our team. As a key member of our Litigation Operations department, you will provide administrative support to our litigation lawyers, senior law clerks, law clerks, and legal assistants.

About the Role

">

We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in legal administration, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a legal administrative role, a Legal Assistant Diploma or equivalent, and superior communication skills, both written and verbal.

Key Responsibilities

">
  • Prepare, draft, and proofread correspondence, pleadings, court documents, and other documents
  • Assist in compiling, serving, and filing pleadings and other legal documents
  • Maintain a diary system, manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate Court dates, mediations, independent medical examinations, surveillance, and other investigations
  • Review and triage incoming legal documentation, ensuring relevant documents are properly stored in our Document Management System (M-Files) and named and classified according to our Litigation practice guidelines
  • Open, organize, and maintain new files by entering all relevant data into our matter management system (eCounsel)
  • Perform other administrative duties as required, such as reporting and processing invoices

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

">
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a legal administrative role
  • A Legal Assistant Diploma or equivalent
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of legal and court documents and procedures across Canada, an asset
  • Strong technical skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Pro, matter management, and document management software (M-Files, Relativity)
  • Excellent interpersonal and client services skills, with a professional and positive demeanor
  • Experience working with highly sensitive and confidential information, daily

Salary Information

This full-time position comes with an estimated salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
