Job Title: Part Time Intervenor to Support People Who Are Deafblind

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Part Time Intervenor to join our team at Sensity Deafblind and Sensory Support Network of Canada. As a Part Time Intervenor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals who are deafblind, enabling them to live independently and participate fully in their communities.

About the Role:
  • Support individuals who are deafblind in their daily lives, facilitating communication and independence.
  • Use effective communication techniques to relay information and empower individuals to participate in daily activities.
  • Assist with personal care, including lifts and transfers, toileting, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
  • Develop and support individual goals and objectives, ensuring individuals have the tools they need to succeed.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and implement programs that meet the unique needs of our clients.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a college diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program or a related human services field.
  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors.
  • Experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions.
  • Communication skills in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE).
  • A valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and a clean current driver's abstract.
