Key Responsibilities

The Service Support Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the Private Banking team's objectives are met by executing specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives.

  • Deliver Exceptional Client Service
    • Provide consistently excellent client experiences by applying the service basics during all client and Private Banking team interactions.
    • Demonstrate confidence and knowledge by ensuring transactions are thorough and accurate.
    • Interact with clients and the Private Banking team in a respectful and knowledgeable manner.
    • Resolve client and Private Banking team service issues in an innovative and compliant manner.
    • Support the Private Banking team with client concerns and complaints.
  • Contribute to Branch Operations and Compliance
    • Adhere to cash, custody, and security procedures and Bank policies at all times.
    • Adhere to position authorities and bank policies.
    • Process daily transactions and service requests from Salesforce originated by the Private Banking team and clients.
    • Authorize transactions within approved limits.
    • Complete the Accounting Support Package as outlined in the ASP at a glance for Sales Support Officers document.
    • Monitor and report on daily and periodic activities, including Automated Control System, Worklist Management Exceptions, Work Hub, and Digital Courier.
    • Educate yourself on the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture and incorporate it into your day-to-day activities and decisions.
    • Comply with regulatory activities and guidelines, including Privacy, OHS, AML, Anti-Terrorist Financing, FCAC, KYC, CDIC, MFDA rules, and Scotia Securities Inc. guidelines.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong PC and keyboarding skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of branch systems, including FFT, Intralink, Salesbuilder, Salesforce, Workhub, and ScotiaFX.
  • Working knowledge of the Bank's Private Banking, Small Business, and Retail Banking products and services, policies, and procedures.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a wide variety of tasks and functions.
  • Ability to work independently and confidently within the authority and limits assigned.
  • Sensitivity to client needs and privacy.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail in executing transactions and adhering to compliance guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of Scotia Service and Complaints Resolution Standards and Procedures.
  • Working knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of the CBCC, RBSC, and Global Operations.

Language proficiency in English is required. French language proficiency is also required, as you will be working closely with other corporate groups primarily working in English.
