Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in the Emergency Department at Fort St. John Hospital. As an LPN, you will work closely with the care team to provide compassionate patient care, assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions, and coordinate health services for emergency department patients.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing patients' needs and developing individualized care plans
  • Providing direct patient care, including administering medications, performing wound care, and conducting vital signs
  • Collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care
  • Documenting patient care on appropriate systems/forms in accordance with organizational and unit standards
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • One year of recent experience working in a related area of care
  • Demonstrated ability to perform nursing assessments and interventions related to common diagnoses and specific clinical situations relevant to the designated patient group
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
