About the Role

Alderwood House is seeking an experienced Lead Early Childhood Educator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that meet the needs of children in a child care centre setting
  • Lead activities such as telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children on outings to local points of interest
  • Engage children in activities through storytelling, teaching, and preparing crafts
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of other early childhood educators and assistants
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or equivalent experience
  • Child development supervisor (ECE level 3) certification
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • Criminal record check and immunization records
Work Environment:

This is a physically demanding role that requires standing, walking, bending, and crouching. The work site environment is outdoors, and the work setting is a child care centre.
