Role Overview

The Director – Vehicle Distribution, VSSM Canada role is a key strategic leadership position within Vehicle Sales Service and Marketing at General Motors of Canada. This position leads the distribution function, which includes industry and sales forecasting, production scheduling, and order management. The successful candidate will ensure sufficient allocation and vehicle inventory turn rates to achieve GMCC volume and revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate the monthly cycles associated with vehicle scheduling, sales forecasting, and order management to maximize GMCC revenue and Consensus coverage.
  • Manage and work to streamline and modernize all associated allocation and sales/inventory systems and reporting.
  • Lead stakeholder communications through the entire organization.

Required Skills and Experience

  • High level of interpersonal skills, analytical ability, and presentation skills.
  • Strong skills in collaboration, decision making, initiative, organization/time management, dealing with ambiguity, oral and written communication, and proficient knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Order Workbench, and Power-BI.
  • Strong knowledge of GM products and customer expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to streamline processes and innovate.
  • High level understanding of order fulfillment processes and awareness of the relationships between different functional areas and teams at GM.
  • Prior field/regional sales experience and comprehensive understanding of dealership operations.

Location:
This hybrid role requires an average of three days in-office per week, with a split location between OEC and MEC sites depending on where stakeholders are on a given day. Occasional travel within U.S. and Canada is required.
