  • Efficiently complete assignments independently
  • Take initiative to complete tasks throughout the day
  • Veterinary Assistant (VA) or Veterinary Office Assistant (VOA) program certification is an asset

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Answer a multiline phone system and track and book appointments effectively
  • Place outbound calls to pet parents for follow-up and future appointment bookings
  • Respond and manage email correspondence, including clients, referring veterinarians, and internal office messages
  • Admit and discharge pet patients
  • Invoice and bill clients, including creating estimates, obtaining pet owner confirmation, and processing payments
  • Schedule appointments
  • Provide excellent customer service, with a focus on creating a welcoming environment
  • Utilize strong organizational skills
  • Be willing to learn more about veterinary services, updated medical office procedures, and assisting veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments
  • Previous customer service or front desk experience in hospitality or retail is an asset
