Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Circuit Rider Trainer to join our team at Anishinabek Employment & Training Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for training First Nation Water Treatment Plant Operators in the operation and maintenance of their community's water and wastewater infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver training programs for First Nation Water Treatment Plant Operators, focusing on the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Coordinate and schedule training sessions, ensuring that operators receive the necessary education and support to maintain and improve their skills.
  • Collaborate with First Nation communities to identify training needs and develop tailored training plans.
  • Provide on-the-job training and support to First Nation operators, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to operate and maintain their water and wastewater systems.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with First Nation communities, ensuring that training programs meet their needs and expectations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, ensuring that training programs are relevant and effective.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the operations of a Class II Water Treatment Plant.
  • Valid Class II Water Treatment & Water Distribution Operator licenses and Ontario Driver's License.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office database functions and maintenance programs.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated computer and mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiar with operating SCADA, GIS, and CMMS systems.
  • The ability to read technical drawings. Knowledge, understanding, and experience with the application of related Provincial legislation and acts (Occupational Health & Safety Act, Ontario Water Regulation Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, Environmental Protection Act).
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to travel extensively throughout the Province of Ontario, visiting First Nation communities and working in a variety of settings. A reliable and insured vehicle and valid Ontario Class G driver's license are essential for this role.
