Customer Service Representative for Credit and Debt Management

We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Service Representative to join our team in Burlington, ON. As a Credit and Debt Management professional, you will be responsible for managing and collecting outstanding debts from residential and commercial customers.
Key Responsibilities- Handle routine inbound and outbound telephone calls with delinquent customers using auto dialer or dialing manually.
- Investigate discrepancies, and record proposed actions and payment commitments with carefully noted follow-up dates to effectively manage credit exposure.
- E nsure account information is accurate and current.
- Approve/deny and recommend payment arrangements generated through all customer contact channels, including chat.
- Collect on delinquent accounts with a focus on customer retention while trying to avoid, within reason, the cancellation of the subscription.
- Assume all other tasks and duties as related to Credit and Collections as per business needs, agents may be asked to cross train for additional skills to assist teams with backup if needed.
- College Diploma or combination of equivalent education and experience.
- 3 years relevant experience in customer service and/or collections/credit environment that involved multiple contacts with varied clientele.
- Proficient in Google Workspace application tools and a Microsoft Windows environment.
- Prior experience and knowledge of Collection systems is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a winning customer service attitude, professional demeanor, and phone etiquette.
- Excellent organization skills – with ability to handle a large volume of accounts in a fast-paced deadline oriented environment.
- General understanding of broadband, telecom, cable and internet industries is an asset.
- Flexibility to work extended and/or evening hours and Saturdays as required.
The estimated salary for this role is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and development in a dynamic and supportive team environment.
