POSITION SUMMARY

Journeyperson Pipefitters at Strike Group possess a comprehensive range of knowledge and skills required to design, assemble, install, and maintain complex pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for various industrial applications. They are expected to uphold a strong commitment to safety and adhere to Strike's Code of Conduct and Values, promoting a culture of respect, fairness, and dignity in the workplace.

PROJECT DETAILS

  • Employees will be working at the Cenovus Foster Creek facility, supporting the installation of pipe systems and equipment.
  • Shift schedules will be 8 hours on and 6 hours off, with 12-hour days and a final day of shift being an 8-hour day.
  • A travel allowance of $300 per shift will be provided, and camp accommodations will be available.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Read and interpret complex construction drawings and blueprints, including Isometrics and P&IDs.
  • Assemble piping and valves in module and compressor packages, ensuring precise fit and function.
  • Prepare pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and rigging, adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Hydrotest, assemble, and install pipe spools in the fabrication facility, verifying quality and accuracy.
  • Measure, cut, and thread pipe to the required shape, utilizing precision tools and techniques.
  • Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
  • Remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems, maintaining optimal performance and efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A valid Journeyperson certificate from the appropriate provincial or federal authority is required.
  • Employees must have or be willing to obtain valid H2S Alive and CSTS 2020 or PST tickets, with CSTS 09 and CSO/BSO not being accepted.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds, with a focus on maintaining physical fitness and stamina.
  • Comfortable working outdoors, with adaptability to varying environmental conditions.
