Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Software Developer to join our team at ATS Corporation. As a key member of our control systems design department, you will design and develop world-class automation solutions for our customers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software programs for customer and project requirements using standard ATS programming methods.
  • Debug and commission control systems at our facility, during system integration, and at customer sites during installation.
  • Travel to customer and supplier sites to perform installation, commissioning, and training duties.
  • Select, test, and integrate hardware and software components, including robots, analog devices, motion controllers, sensors, vision systems, and lasers.
  • Collaborate with other team members to improve methods of integrating controls technology, focusing on enhanced safety, functionality, and reduced cost.
  • Work with customers, project managers, designers, toolmakers, and electricians to solve problems and provide a complete, functional automation system.
  • Provide thorough testing of machine functionality to verify software program completeness.
  • Document each project accurately.
  • Advise customers on solving technical problems.
  • Provide customer training specific to their project, including machine operation, programming principles, and program structure.
Requirements
  • A post-secondary engineering degree, diploma, or equivalent in mechanical, electrical, systems, or computer engineering.
  • Strong programming, mechanical, and electrical problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Understanding of robotics, control systems, and machine operation with hands-on experience is desirable.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
