Facilities Coordinator for Multicultural Support

Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Coordinator to join our team at ONTARIO INC.
About the Role:
This is a permanent, part-time position with an estimated 30-40 hours of work per week. As a Facilities Coordinator, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, as well as supporting newcomers, refugees, mature workers, and visible minorities through various programs and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors: Ensure all areas are clean and safe for employees and visitors.
- Dust furniture: Regularly dust all furniture, fixtures, and equipment to maintain a clean environment.
- Vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture: Keep all carpets, rugs, and upholstered furniture clean and free of dust and dirt.
- Clean, disinfect, and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances: Maintain high standards of hygiene in our kitchens and bathrooms.
- Disinfect operating rooms and other areas: Disinfect all operating rooms and other high-risk areas regularly.
- Clean and disinfect elevators: Clean and disinfect elevators regularly to ensure they are safe and hygienic.
- Pick up debris and empty trash containers: Remove all trash and recyclables from the premises.
- Wash windows, walls, and ceilings: Clean all windows, walls, and ceilings to maintain a clean and professional environment.
- Clean changing rooms and showers: Ensure all changing rooms and showers are clean and safe for employees.
- Support for Newcomers and Refugees:
- Participate in a government or community program that supports newcomers and/or refugees: Collaborate with local organizations to provide support services to newcomers and refugees.
- Assist with immediate settlement needs (housing, transportation, storage, childcare, winter clothing, etc.): Help newcomers and refugees with their basic needs.
- Support social and labour market integration (language training, skills training, etc.): Assist newcomers and refugees in integrating into Canadian society.
- Recruit newcomers and/or refugees displaced by conflict or natural disaster: Help attract newcomers and refugees who have been displaced due to conflict or natural disasters.
- Support credential recognition and offer mentorship programs: Help newcomers and refugees obtain Canadian credentials and provide mentorship opportunities.
- Provide diversity and cross-cultural training: Educate staff on diversity and cross-cultural awareness.
- Support for Mature Workers:
- Participate in a government or community program that supports mature workers: Collaborate with local organizations to provide support services to mature workers.
- Apply hiring policies that discourage age discrimination: Implement hiring practices that promote equality and fairness for all employees.
- Provide staff awareness training: Educate staff on ageism and its effects on mature workers.
- Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities: Provide opportunities for mature workers to develop their skills and network.
- Provide phased retirement options: Offer flexible retirement options for mature workers.
- Offer phased re-entry options: Provide opportunities for mature workers to re-enter the workforce.
- Provide workspace accommodations: Make adjustments to the work environment to accommodate mature workers' needs.
- Support for Visible Minorities:
- Participate in a government or community program that supports visible minorities: Collaborate with local organizations to provide support services to visible minorities.
- Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination: Implement hiring practices that promote equality and fairness for all employees.
- Offer mentorship programs: Provide opportunities for visible minorities to develop their skills and network.
- Provide diversity and cross-cultural training: Educate staff on diversity and cross-cultural awareness.
What We Offer:
We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
