The Vancouver Coastal Health is currently seeking a Healthcare Food Service Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of the Patient Food Services department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the food service team at Berkley Care Centre. This is an on-call/casual position, requiring flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the department.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the food service team, ensuring high-quality food preparation and service.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control to maintain a well-stocked kitchen.
- Develop and implement effective training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to create menus and meal plans that meet the dietary needs of patients.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as food safety standards.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in Hospitality, Nutrition, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a food service leadership role.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
