The Vancouver Coastal Health is currently seeking a Healthcare Food Service Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of the Patient Food Services department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the food service team at Berkley Care Centre. This is an on-call/casual position, requiring flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the department.



Responsibilities:




  • Oversee the daily operations of the food service team, ensuring high-quality food preparation and service.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control to maintain a well-stocked kitchen.
  • Develop and implement effective training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to create menus and meal plans that meet the dietary needs of patients.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as food safety standards.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
  • Perform other related duties as required.


Requirements:




  • Post-secondary education in Hospitality, Nutrition, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a food service leadership role.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
