About the Role:


Interior Health is seeking a highly skilled Technical Systems Analyst III to join their team on a full-time permanent basis out of their Kelowna location. As a Technical Systems Analyst III, you will be responsible for evaluating, planning, developing, implementing, testing, maintaining, and supporting complex computer systems throughout Interior Health.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Participate in provincial technical committees and working groups to provide Interior Health input and expertise for workplace technology, assist in developing, implementing, and supporting provincial standards for new and existing technologies using project management methodologies, and act as a liaison between provincial committees and Interior Health.
  • Provide technical support and consultation for complex systems applications, participate in the development, design, implementation, and systems administration for Interior Health on desktop, server, and mobile computing hardware and software, and test and evaluate new equipment and procedures.
  • Consult with client departments, other DH departments, and key strategic partners to meet related individual, department, and corporate requirements, and provide informational input and expertise during acquisition of products and services and during development of project plans, project priorities, and tactical plans as required.
  • Install, configure, modify, and test desktop, server, and mobile computing hardware and software, and develop proposals for modification and/or enhancement of vendor applications and liaise with vendors to oversee installation, testing, problem resolution/debugging of software or hardware coding.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain user and technical operating documentation, procedures, and guidelines for computing hardware and software, and provide training to DH technical personnel and end-users by planning, coordinating, and preparing instructional materials and providing in-service training.
  • Coordinate systems development projects as required, meet with managers to review current methodologies, identify resource requirements, project milestones, and deliverables, and perform feasibility studies, cost/benefit analyses, project planning, and maintain project documentation, evaluation criteria, and authorizations.
  • Act as the third-line support person for incident calls and first-line support person for problem calls as required, trouble-shoot hardware and software problems, and liaise and refer to other DH staff or vendors as appropriate to ensure that issues are resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Prepare work plans for implementation of hardware and software and provide training or orientation to department staff and users, and maintain working knowledge of current tools and techniques used in the information technology environment.

To be successful in this role, you will require a strong background in computer systems analysis and support, excellent technical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will also need to have a strong understanding of project management methodologies and be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
