Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
  • Load and unload goods, ensuring they are properly secured and protected during transport.
  • Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, ensuring all aspects of the vehicle are properly maintained.
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch, ensuring timely and efficient communication.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, maintaining accurate records.
  • Tarping and ensuring the safety and security of cargo, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Transport and handle dangerous goods, following all safety procedures and regulations.

Requirements:

  • AZ class license.
  • Accident or incident reports.
  • Driver logbook.
  • Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip).
  • Maintenance and repair reports.
  • Trip reports.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel for extended periods and overnight.
