Mechanical Inspector

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Inspector to join our Building Division team at the City of Mississauga. As a Mechanical Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and compliance of HVAC systems in our communities.
Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct inspections of buildings and structures to ensure compliance with the Building Code Act and Ontario Building Code.
- Prepare and maintain accurate inspection records.
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide information on inspection results.
- Investigate HVAC-related complaints and take necessary actions.
- Work collaboratively with other Building Division staff and external agencies.
- HVAC tradesperson or designer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC design and/or construction.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Building Code Act and Ontario Building Code.
- Qualified as referenced in Division C Section of the Ontario Building Code.
- Ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent customer service.
Working Conditions
This is a permanent position with a 35-hour workweek. The successful candidate will be required to work at the Civic Centre and may be required to travel to various locations throughout the city.
