Communications Leader for Global Wealth and Asset Management

We're seeking a skilled Communications Leader to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping and delivering our communications strategy for Manuvie's wealth and asset management business globally.
The Role
- You will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with Manuvie's overall business objectives. This will include media relations, thought leadership, executive visibility, and reputation management across our retirement, retail, and institutional channels.
- You will provide strategic counsel to our CEO and leadership team on communications and reputation matters, ensuring timely and relevant advice to promote and defend our reputation within the global wealth and asset management industry.
- You will lead reputation management efforts for Manuvie's wealth and asset management business, working closely with marketing, risk, and government relations/legal counterparts to identify and mitigate potential risks and opportunities.
- You will develop and maintain relationships with top-tier media, industry analysts, and influencers to secure strategic media opportunities that advance Manuvie's business objectives. You will also represent Manuvie as a primary external spokesperson.
- You will lead communications for various change management projects such as transformation, crisis management, partnerships, and mergers and acquisitions.
- You will work closely with our global practice areas to develop creative content across all relevant internal channels to help tell our story and ensure our global team understands and believes in our business strategy and direction.
- You will support the communications needs of our CEO for quarterly earnings, board presentations, and presentations or events with other audiences as needed.
- You will ensure timely delivery of the communications team's commitments and report clearly to stakeholders on progress made against the communications strategy, highlighting necessary pivots and investments appropriately.
About You
- You have significant experience in the wealth and asset management industry, with a deep understanding of business and political dynamics across the global wealth and asset management industry.
- You have expertise in external communications, including media relations, issues management, and thought leadership, with a substantial track record of success in securing media coverage.
- You have experience leading a multi-faceted communications function, with solid knowledge and exposure to highly regulated or financial services businesses.
- You have executive communication and stakeholder management experience, having worked within a global organization.
We Offer
We offer a competitive salary range of $130,000 - $220,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, mental health, vision, short- and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, and employee assistance programs.
