Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced education professional to join our Curriculum Assurance team as a Consultant. The successful candidate will have a strong background in curriculum development and implementation, with expertise in educational policy and procedures.

The role will involve working closely with curriculum writing teams, developing professional learning presentations and support documents, and providing objective review and feedback on curriculum development processes.

About the Role
  • Job Summary: The Consultant will be responsible for implementing curriculum development processes and guidelines, providing objective review and feedback, and supporting common understanding of curriculum architecture.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Curriculum Development: Implement curriculum development processes and guidelines to ensure alignment with policy and diverse needs by:
    • Providing objective review and feedback.
    • Developing assurance considerations and tools.
  2. Professional Learning: Support common understanding of curriculum architecture by:
    • Working with curriculum writing teams.
    • Developing professional learning presentations and support documents.
  3. Communication: Identify and clarify roles and responsibilities for curriculum development by:
    • Consulting with teams involved.
    • Building consensus among teams.
  4. Implementation: Support stakeholders in successful implementation of curriculum by:
    • Designing and delivering professional development.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in Education or a related field plus five years' related experience or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of policy documents related to curriculum development.
  • Information technology capabilities (Microsoft Office, PPT, Excel, video conferencing).
  • Experience building relationships and working collaboratively.
Assets
  • Ability to communicate in both French and English.
  • Administrative experience in the Alberta K-12 context.
Location and Remuneration

This temporary position is based in Edmonton. The estimated salary for this role is $83,517 - $111,780 per year, bi-weekly pay of $3,199.79. We offer a competitive compensation package and opportunities for growth and development.
