Financial Systems Specialist - Fulltime - Interim or Permanent

Key Responsibilities

The Financial Systems Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the financial systems and controls to ensure timely and accurate reporting. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience and involvement in company processes, be result-driven, and contribute to a highly motivated and quality organization.

Functional Tasks

  1. Review existing control environment, design and implement robust financial controls and processes;
  2. Support senior management in budgeting and forecasting;
  3. Introduce processes to ensure accurate recognition of project revenue and costs;
  4. Work with external tax advisors to ensure all tax and other statutory filings are completed on time;
  5. Approve all bank payments, ensuring that purchase invoices and expenses have been approved;
  6. Deal with any ad-hoc finance related queries raised by employees;
  7. Manage cash flow.

Preferred Experience / Education

The following indicates specific industry, academic and functional experience/qualifications that are important to the successful achievement of the identified responsibilities and performance deliverables.

  1. Post-secondary education and accounting certification;
  2. 7-10 years work experience in financial reporting, operational effectiveness, and efficiency;
  3. Experience in a SaaS company or technology services company is preferred;
  4. Proficiency in accounting applications (i.e. NetSuite) and Microsoft Office functions;
