About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Scheduling Manager to join our team at Ocean Front Village in Courtenay, BC. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the scheduling and staffing functions at the Village.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the scheduling and staffing functions at the Village
  • Ensure that all scheduling processes adhere to collective agreement and optimize workforce productivity
  • Supervise scheduling staff and collaborate with other departments to address scheduling issues
  • Prepare and adjust schedules, maintain schedules in advance, and schedule staff as authorized
  • Perform general staffing and timekeeping functions, including calling in relief staff
  • Escalate issues to the Community Manager and work collaboratively with all department managers and supervisors
  • Maintain accurate statistics on staff attendance and scheduling issues
Requirements
  • Completion of high school diploma
  • Previous experience with scheduling in a unionized environment
  • Experience in staff supervision and mentorship is an asset
  • Experience with Avanti Software is highly preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and office suites
  • Successful completion of Office Procedures or Office Management Coursework
  • Ability to type a minimum of 60 wpm
  • Experience in operating and administering an electronic payroll and scheduling program
  • Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and prioritize work
  • Effective customer service, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience in Home and Community Care is an asset
  • Ability to be flexible with schedule
