About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for providing design solutions and assessments for new, updated, and modified process systems, structures, and components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement design solutions for process systems, structures, and components.
  • Prepare and review design documents, including design calculations, design requirements, assessments, technical specifications, drawings, bill of materials, and system code classification.
  • Perform thermal hydraulic evaluations on complex systems.
  • Prepare and review engineering quotation requests and tender technical evaluations.
  • Prepare and review engineering packages.
  • Perform walkdowns, attend site visits, and meetings as required.
  • Ensure applicable code, standards, and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Ensure adherence to company quality program.
  • Ensure adherence to project delivery requirements and schedule.
  • Support engineering management with timely updates on engineering progress.
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders as required.

Requirements

  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
  • Engineering degree from an accredited University in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or Engineering Science.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in process-system design/analysis, preferably providing design solutions for CANDU nuclear power plants or BWR/PWR markets.
  • Experience performing heat balance and thermal hydraulic evaluations.
  • Experience in process system design and layout.
  • Knowledge of analytical tools used for mechanical and process design (e.g., ANSYS, Mathcad, Flomaster, NUCIRC, CATHENA, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of/experience with the CSA B51 standard, ASME Section III, ASME B31.1 codes.
  • Working knowledge of/experience using nuclear Codes and Standards or regulatory guides, including CSA N285.0 is an asset.
  • Must have excellent communication and technical writing skills.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Site experience in construction, or commissioning of plant mechanical systems for nuclear or other heavy industries is an asset.
  • Experience performing work to nuclear power plants procedures and practices and qualifications for nuclear power plants engineering activities is an asset.
  • Eligible for Security Clearance through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).
