About the Role:

  • As Chief Human Resources Officer, you will provide strategic HR leadership to Second Harvest and drive business success through people management.
  • You will oversee all aspects of HR, including recruitment, talent optimization, employee engagement, employee relations, succession planning, training and development, health and safety, compensation, benefits and pension, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, and HRIS.
  • This role requires a strong technical HR knowledge and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility and adaptability.
  • You will develop and implement the HR People Strategy that aligns with Second Harvest's operational and strategic objectives, ensuring timely advice, counsel, and decisions contribute to business success.
  • In addition, you will coach and develop the HR Team, establish strong routines to deliver HR initiatives on time, and mitigate risks.
  • You will also lead compensation and benefit review processes to ensure a competitive Total Rewards package and reviews budget requirements with the CFOO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the HR People Strategy that aligns with Second Harvest's operational and strategic objectives.
  • Provide strategic HR leadership to the organization and oversee all aspects of HR.
  • Coach and develop the HR Team, establishing strong routines to deliver HR initiatives on time and mitigate risks.
  • Lead compensation and benefit review processes to ensure a competitive Total Rewards package and reviews budget requirements with the CFOO.
  • Anticipate and mitigate obstacles, risks, and business disruptions caused by change initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, CHRL/CHRP designation.
  • 7-10 years of experience in Human Resources, with prior experience working in a non-profit environment.
  • Technical expertise in HR functional areas, including compensation and benefits, talent acquisition, succession planning, employee engagement, employee relations, policy and procedure development.
  • Previous experience working for a pan-Canadian organization with broad knowledge of relevant provincial and federal legislation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, HR technologies, and possessing strong digital literacy.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.

Compensation Package:
