Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team at Garuda Transport AB Ltd. As a key member of our logistics operations, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across various routes, ensuring timely delivery and excellent customer service.
About the Role
- Drive a variety of trucks, including straight and articulated vehicles, to transport goods and materials over long distances
- Maintain the condition of the vehicle, performing regular inspections and ensuring all necessary equipment is in good working order
- Oversee the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring accurate weights and secure transportation
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other stakeholders to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues that may arise
- Keep accurate records of hours worked, distance traveled, and fuel consumption to ensure compliance with regulations and optimize fleet performance
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to company policies and industry standards
Requirements
- A valid Class 1 or A driver's license with an Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
- Extensive experience as a truck driver, preferably in a similar role
- Ability to lift heavy loads and work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer skills and ability to navigate GPS systems
- A willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays and cross-border trips
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with refrigerated or flatbed trucks
- Familiarity with truck maintenance and repair procedures
- Citizens band (CB) radio certification
- Bilingualism or multilingualism (an asset)
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
