Job Title: Specialist, Contracts

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and/or lead the negotiation of multi-million dollar cross-border agreements related to the sale of private jets for special missions worldwide.
  • Draft and negotiate complex and specialized terms and conditions that balance Bombardier's risk and the needs of our unique customers.
  • Support aircraft delivery objectives by providing ongoing commercial and/or legal support to internal and external customers.
  • Drive business results by anticipating risks and initiating creative and effective mitigation plans to protect aircraft delivery schedules.
  • Engage with management to raise unresolved contractual risks in a timely manner.
  • Initiate correspondence to customers, including invoices, in accordance with the purchase agreement and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Contribute to process improvement and governance activities related to the functions of the department.
  • Be presented with opportunities to travel internationally.

Requirements:

  • Combine business acumen with risk mitigation abilities.
  • Hold a university degree in law or business, with an MBA being considered an asset.
  • Have at least ten to fifteen years' experience working in a law firm or a large corporation.
  • Have a minimum of ten years of experience in the negotiation of commercial transactions and drafting of commercial agreements.
  • Be a leader and autonomous.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and persuasion skills.
  • Have strong drafting skills in English.
  • Be able to work flexibly, extended and/or irregular working hours in line with business demands, together with an ability to travel on short notice.
  • Be bilingual in French and English, with knowledge of a third language being an asset.
  • Have proven experience or knowledge of the aviation and/or defense industry, as well as knowledge of U.S. government Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARs).
