Job Title: Junior Mechanical Engineering Technologist

Hatch is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join our Specialized Engineering Group in Mississauga, ON, Canada.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented individual to participate in the design aspects of custom equipment and new product development. As a Junior Mechanical Engineering Technologist, you will work under the guidance of experienced engineers and designers to develop knowledge in mechanical design, including modeling and drafting with Solid Modelling tools, production of high-quality mechanical assembly and detail drawings, and coordination with a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the design and development of custom equipment and new products
  • Apply and develop knowledge in mechanical design, including modeling and drafting with Solid Modelling tools
  • Produce high-quality mechanical assembly and detail drawings
  • Coordinate designs with a multi-disciplinary team, including structural, mechanical, electrical, process, and instrumentation and controls
  • Participate in design reviews and quality checking workflows
  • Contribute to the design and improvement of various types of mechanical equipment and technologies
  • Assist in developing prototypes
  • Review fabrication and construction drawings, including international engineering standards
Qualifications:
  • Graduated from a 3-year college program in Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Demonstrate strong academic performance
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have an aptitude for working on multi-disciplinary teams
  • Enjoy taking on new challenges with a commitment to achieving engineering excellence
  • Prior experience in the engineering industry is an asset
  • Registration as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) is an asset
