Electrical Design Specialist

Black & McDonald Limited, a leading electrical construction company, is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Specialist to join their ICI team. As a key member of the design team, you will be responsible for creating detailed engineering contract drawings using Autodesk Revit.

This exciting opportunity offers a chance to work on high-profile projects and contribute to driving new revenues and improving processes. You will collaborate closely with project managers, BIM/CAD detailers, and other trade counterparts to deliver exceptional results.

About the Role
  • Create accurate and precise engineering contract drawings from conceptual design through tender to construction documents using Autodesk Revit.
  • Work closely with project managers and BIM/CAD detailers to ensure seamless execution and timely delivery of projects.
  • Liaise with other trade counterparts to develop clash-free BIM 3D models, promoting efficient project planning and coordination.
  • Develop 2D/3D layout drawings for material installation on-site and prepare fabrication drawings for pre-fabrication.

Education Requirements

  • Possess post-secondary education in a subject related to Autodesk Revit and Navisworks.
  • Hold a two to three-year college program in engineering and drafting technology.

Work Experience Requirements

  • Proven experience in setting up pre-fabrication efficiently and effectively.
  • Familiarity with electrical construction products and installation methods.
  • Recent training and/or experience with Building Information Modelling software (Revit).
  • Basic knowledge of building codes and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk REVIT MEP Suite, MS Office tools, and Navisworks.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and self-motivated with initiative to take ownership of tasks.
  • Ability to input data, complete and update As-builts (2D set), and support plotting and sending of electronic files.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development within our organization.
